Sunita Singh’s beauty magic is the secret of the glowing skin of some of the country’s best groomed women – mature professionals, accomplished socialites, young mothers and fresh faced girls opening up to life. She has built a formidable reputation as an expert in rejuvenating and teasing out the glow in our skins using her own special powders blended from organic and natural materials in her expert beauty treatment.
She is a firm believer in the magic of a good looking skin -clean fresh and glowing. “Every person has some unique features that make them beautiful” she says, “It just needs to be enhanced and highlighted in order to bring out their natural beauty using organic and natural products rather than cosmetic ones” Sunita strongly lives by the fact that daily skin care goes a long way in maintaining its natural beauty.
Keen to expand her knowledge and expertise, she went to Geneva in Switzerland and was fortunate to be accepted as a pro-bono student at the highly reputed Lydia Daïnow, Institute de Beauté. Lydia Daïnow was a medical doctor turned beauty therapist. Her salon included laboratories where she made and tested all her products. Sunita pursued a course in skin care for a period of one year. She studied clinical aspects of skin treatment at the Institute de Beauté. She gained expertise in skin care and mastered aspects of skin treatment for a wide variety of skin types. It was during her study there that she was introduced to the mysteries of various organic materials and the valuable properties of natural and mineral products in the fashioning of beauty products and treatments.
Her expertise and skills have been honed on a highly personalized hands on practice of more than 43 years in the specialized segment of skin care and beauty. From early childhood, Sunita was drawn to the elegance of good grooming and explored ways of caring for a problematic skin. Soon after graduating from Miranda House, Delhi University, it seemed natural that she gravitated towards the pioneering venture of India’s then best known cosmetic house, Lakme and joined as a trainee at the Lakme Beauty Centre cum Training Institute. That first batch of Lakme graduates was privileged to train under a qualified chemist turned beauty expert. She acquired many of her skills and beauty practices from that period. It is still visible in her work today.
At the Lydia Daïnow Institute, Sunita learned the art of magic hands – her multi-mode facials which are so sought after that clients located in distant corners of the country, make a stopover at Sunita’s an absolute must when in Delhi. Few leave without taking with them the special powders, the secret mixture of organic and natural materials, that have proved, tried and tested for maintaining a glowing skin.
Sunita shared some of her ‘natural’ beauty secrets in her weekly Sunday column in the Indian Express. She also provided skin care treatment and grooming advice to air hostesses of Indian Airlines and British Airways. The best testimony to her skills and special products on skin care is her loyal clientele and the ever growing outcrop of young and old realizing the importance of daily skin care, and reaching out for Sunita’s natural organic powders.
